Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a life-limiting disease with no known cure or effective treatment. Each person's experience with MND is unique, but on average, individual life expectancy is just 27 months from diagnosis. This stark reality highlights the urgent need for timely and tailored care.
Funds raised through Walk to Defeat MND 2026 are crucial in enabling MNDSA to continue our work in the community.

My Story
Over two years ago our dad- Dave Hankinson
-walked alongside myself, Stevan & Ruby at the Walk to Defeat fundraiser. Actually he raced ahead of us!
Ever the eternal optimist, he was determined this cruel disease wouldn’t affect him- and for a while it seemed he could be right. Sadly as the months progressed he began to struggle to walk, manage his daily needs, and even talk.
I’m forever grateful that I walked alongside him, talked with him and was inspired by his ability to face this disease and the effects it had on his mind and body with high distinction- forever the high achiever💗 👨🎓
I miss him every day and wish he could walk with me again everyday on the beach and at this years Walk to Defeat MND event. Thankfully I have an amazing group of friends who are coming along with me and Stevan Pridmore to help raise awareness and much needed funds for this deadly disease.
